On the occasion of Diwali there was an Inter House Rangoli competition on the fourth of November. A Rangoli is a colourful pattern made with colours, coloured rice, flower petals, fine pebbles, …etc. A Rangoli is made on a flat surface on the ground.The patterns and colours are often stunning and eye-catching. In India, Rangolis are prepared during festivals, and to welcome important guests. On Diwali, the Festival of Lights, the whole family pools in to prepare a rangoli at home. I have noticed that boys too are very good in making patterns, and not just girls!
It was wonderful to see the colourful patterns emerging out of the efforts of the students. I took some photographs on the occasion and this is what I got:
