Birds spotted at The Najafgarh Lake and Chandu Grassland

Intermediate Egret with a fish in its beak

It is back to wildlife photography for me, especially after a hiatus of three months, during which time, of course I was busy with macro photography. Since the Sultanpur National Park will open later in the first week of October, I decided to visit the Najafgarh Lake close to the Chandu Budhera village. It was a joy to spot Egrets feasting on fish which seemed to be plentiful. I was also able to photograph Cormorants having a hearty breakfast of fish.

Perhaps, however, the more interesting birds were the Broad-Tailed Grass Birds that I spotted in the tall grass close to the Chandu water-treatment plant in pairs and singles. Spotting the elusive Grey Francolin in the distance made my day.

    1. Hi, Sanket, that is a wonderful lens and I bought it for Rs. 3800/- when it was just launched. Now however it is costlier. I had bought it from Amazon India. I still spot is sometimes on Amazon. Trust me, it offers value for money, go for it when it appears on Amazon.
