Bidding Farewell to Grade Twelve

Just a few days back, while chilling out in the winter season, I was assailed by thoughts of the years gone by. I had taken quite a few photographs of the graduating students of grade twelve many of whom I had been acquainted since grade eight when I first taught them. A large number I had taught in the journalism class, and a mere fourteen I had taught in grade twelve, (the majority of my students being this year, grade elevens) and for some I was a mentor (the mentoring having taken place in the corridors and cut-outs). It was then that the lines below came to mind, "Give to the year what belongs to it" and realized it was time I shared some of the photographs I had taken on the twentieth of December, the farewell day that had taken place at the Orana Conventions Hall.

My Resolution for the year-end:

Give to the year what belongs to it,
Take not that hath passed to the next,
Let the new year have what is rightly
Its own! Therefore, I bid you farewell,
Let the past lead to the future, bid you
Well, Pick up your courage and greet
The morrow, to start afresh. Thus do
I share with you vignettes from the
Farewell day, to cherish memories so
Dear, and start afresh for a life ahead.
All the best for the years to come,
May we meet in the future, with
Memories so pleasant!

Vignettes from the Candle Night Service at the Church of the Epiphany, Gurgaon

The Candle-Night service that took place on the 22nd of December at the Church of the Epiphany was a day to cherish. Everyone was draped in the warmest of clothes as it was really cold. The soup organised by Mrs. Ingty provided great relief.

These are vignettes from the candle night service at the Church of the Epiphany, Civil Lines, Gurgaon. I would not like to add anything more believing that the photographs represent the occasion better than words can express. Hope you like the snaps, do leave a comment in the blog on the comments section. A word of thanks to the Presbyter In Charge, Revd. Daman Derrick Rodgers and Mrs Marion Sircar for planning the whole event.
