Poster Writing for Grade Eleven

Poster Writing is part of the short composition section of the CBSE Grade Eleven syllabus. Marks are awarded for creativity, sticking to the format, and following conventions. Posters are fun to make and they are scoring too!

Learning Targets
1. I can frame a poster using accepted formats.
2. I can identify important elements in a poster.
3. I can present important information concisely.

Two kinds of Posters can come in the exam.

The Event Poster:
Event Posters include events like School Fetes, Book Fairs, Blood Donation Camps…etc
•It deals with events that are to take place. The event poster contains the following value points:
•Slogan
•Statement(also announcement)
•Venue
•Date
•Special Feature
•Other Features
•Important Information
•Concluding slogan/statement
Name of Organizer

The Non-Event Poster:
Posters on Social Issues, Social evils, and Bad Habits (Child Marriage, Female Infanticide, Alcohol abuse, Deforestation…etc)
•This type of poster deals with important everyday social issues. This poster is made up of the following elements:
•Slogan
•Statement
•List of reasons(to answer the question why?)
•Statement
•Slogan
Name of the person or organizer who has issued the poster.

The Marks Distribution for Posters is as under:
Format 1 
Content 1
Coherence and Grammar 1
Total Marks: 3
