Bidding You Farewell-A Poem

The time has come to bid you farewell,
A whole year together did we spend so well!

We laughed and cried you n me, played
And sang, e'en as sands o time quietly did
Flow! But then, how, ever, could we  still
The time that flows, for to do so would
Learning and growth, life and birth still.

A lot did we learn, of possibilities of thought,
Interpretation, of meanings new, a banquet
Of ideas to taste, of poems and stories and
A novel so rich that we learned a lot about
Life, lessons from Nature n God bequest.

But farewells are a part of life. To progress
We need to move. Little birds the nest do leave,
Partings might be sad, but memories are sweeter still!
Let's remember the lesson we learnt, and look beyond
At horizons new, a life of success that will be yours.

So spread your wings and fly afar, even as
The eagle soars, to touch great heights but
Humble be. Let not the sun melt the wax!
Of freedom and opportunity may you taste,
And bring back your success with us to share.

Farewell my friends, till we meet again,
Till paths do cross, may God thee bless!
